I love my condo and I love my neighborhood. But I needed a change after being there for more than 40 days. There are plenty of hotels offering deals at the moment, but the Millennium Hilton Bangkok Stay Safe package caught my eye. Firstly, I never venture down to the river so it would be a nice change of scenery.
Secondly, the price was incredible. For THB 2,378 (NET) per night you get three meals a day, free Wi-Fi and two pieces of laundry cleaned. Additional guests are charged THB 1,060 (NET) per night if they want the package. However, my wife, who wasn’t going to be around during the day, was allowed to stay without paying for the set.
The entire staff was actually super accommodating, especially dealing with my wife’s constant requests. Five-star hotel employees in Thailand are usually friendly, but sometimes they refuse to deviate from policies. Everyone at Millennium Hilton Bangkok was flexible, which was awesome.
It does need to be noted that the Millennium Hilton Bangkok Stay Safe package required a three-night minimum stay. But a little over THB 7,000 for three nights at a Hilton is great and that’s even before you include all the add-ons.
Hilton Millennium Bangkok Stay Safe package review
1) Room/Workspace
Rooms have great views of the eerily quiet Chao Phraya River. Lighting is excellent during the day and the workspace was perfect. The beds and bathrooms are exactly what you’d expect from a Hilton. The only real downside was a limited selection of television channels. But that’s mostly because True sucks and there aren’t a lot of other options out there. Wi-Fi was excellent.
2) Food
I was a bit skeptical when I heard that Millennium Hilton Bangkok Stay Safe package meals were served bento box-style. Honestly, I thought the quality would be average and the portions small. I was blown away by what arrived. It was basically like three meals of room service each day. Breakfasts were huge, the Thai dinners were outstanding and all the lunch options seemed amazing. I’m kind of disappointed I didn’t get to try them all.
Do note that some menu items cost THB 100++ extra. There is only one restaurant open at the hotel if you want to get outside your room. The Lantern serves your traditional hotel-café fare and you can sit inside.
3) Facilities
Everything was closed. This was expected, but a bummer nonetheless. Parking is free and plentiful.
4) What’s nearby
Millennium Hilton Bangkok is right next to ICONSIAM. Some of the mall’s restaurants as well as the grocery store are open. You’ll find a lot of discounts on offer. There is also a traditional Thai market nearby where you can pick up all your street food favorites. A 7-11 can be found across the street.
Did it end my cabin fever?
Yes. Of course, just being away from my condo would have done this. The Millennium Hilton Bangkok Stay Safe package decimated my cabin fever. Not only was it refreshing to get away, but I was actually more productive while there. Plus, it was great to look away from the desk and see the river and Bangkok skyline.
More importantly, the cost performance of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok Stay Safe package is unbelievable. Bangkok hotels are charging anywhere from THB 900 to THB 1,500 for day use rooms. For less than THB 2,400 a night, you get full room and board at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok. It doesn’t really get any better than that. Especially if you look at how expensive the hotel usually is.
