Capella furthers its reach in Southeast Asia with Capella Hanoi

Fresh off opening the stunning Capella Bangkok, the revered brand revealed its next property in Southeast Asia will welcome guests starting in January 2021. Capella Hanoi is designed by Bill Bensley and can be found in the city’s ritzy Hoàn Kiếm quarter.

As you would expect from a Capella property, Capella Hanoi is one-of-a-kind. The boutique hotel has been created as a celebration of opera, a fitting tribute since it is steps away from Hanoi Opera House. In order to salute its muse, set designs, opera costumes and vintage tableware decorate the hotel; the signature restaurant, Backstage; and the art-décor salon, Diva’s Lounge.

Meanwhile, each suite has been individually designed to reveal tales of opera society with more than 1,000 pieces of operatic memorabilia and custom portraiture art by prolific artist Kate Spencer incorporated through the accommodations.

“Capella Hanoi is a stone’s throw away from some of the most impressive historic landmarks including ‘Temple of the Jade Mound’ and the French Quarter, with the Hanoi Opera House in its centee. Celebrating the hotel’s privileged location and its community are our Capella Culturist who will orchestrate a unique Capella Curates program that offers a glimpse into the soul of Hanoi,” Nicholas Clayton, Capella Hotel Group CEO, explained.

Capella Hanoi sees the brand join forces with local developer Sun Hospitality Group. The developer has invested heavily in Vietnam’s tourism and resort real estate sector and is most well-known for its ambitious Sun World Ba Na Hills resort outside of Da Nang.

“This is Sun Group’s first luxury hotel to open in the capital and we are excited to partner with Capella Hotel Group. Capella’s dedication to service excellence and expertise in creating memorable cultural experiences will cement Capella Hanoi’s position as a preferred place to stay for the refined and affluent traveler who seeks unparalleled luxury,” Dang Minh Truong Chairman of Sun Group Board of Directors, stated.

Capella Hanoi is the brand’s eight hotel in Asia. In October, Capella Bangkok opened its doors to guests after being delayed because of COVID-19. Capella also operates hotels in Bali and Singapore.
