Vietnam deep tech startup Earable Neuroscience recently showcased its wearable sleep device, the FRENZ Brainband, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas as it ramps up for sales later in 2023. The company has generated buzz around its technology which aims to disrupt how people catch some shut eye.
In 2023, Earable Neuroscience became the first Vietnamese firm to win a CES honor when it was presented with the CES Innovation Award in the wearable technology devices category. The presentation in Las Vegas was one last chance to get people excited about FRENZ Brainband which will begin shipping to users in April.

What is FRENZ Brainband?
The FRENZ Brainband is a wearable headset that can track and stimulate brain activities via bone conduction speakers to facilitate better quality sleep, focus and relaxation. To do that, the device focuses on precise neurofeedback signals using scientifically proven techniques to enhance sleep.
Earable Neuroscience believes this to be the world’s first sleep-focused wearable technology, although that claim isn’t verifiable.
As far as the design, the FRENZ Brainband is minimal with the material allowing sleepers to keep it on for 10 hours with no issues. Testimonials from those using the pilot version have been glowing, but it remains to be seen just how the general public will react to wearing the half halo-shaped object at night.
Why the FRENZ Brainband and sleep tech?
Many individuals likely have some sort of sleep tracking program on their phone or wearable device, but the effectiveness of these can be hit and miss. Earable Neuroscience is confident in its innovation and believes it will be in demand, citing the fact an estimated 60 percent of people globally have some sort of issue sleeping.
Interestingly, the sleep-aid market continues to see rapid growth and was valued at more than US$64 billion. However, figures aren’t really needed to demonstrate how prevalent the industry has become. Just head down to your local CVS, Rite-Aid, Boots or Watson and checkout how many different sleep aids are available.
This is where FRENZ Brainband and the startup‘s sleep tech comes in. It offers an alternative to other products on the market which could position the wearable as the sleep aid device of choice for those willing to embrace innovation.
“The device has the potential to become the accessory for the new generation to make better sleep, better focus, better relaxation, or simply to understand more about yourself, about your mind,” Doan Kieu My, marketing director of Earable Neuroscience, explained.
