Is it possible to spend a day in Koh Samui for $30? Come with me as I find out. The Thai island is home to some wonderful resorts and beautiful beaches but isn’t known as the cheapest place in the Kingdom. That, of course, is what makes this a challenge.

To make this even more of a challenge, I have a few things that must be accomplished throughout my day. These include needing to pick up a gift for my mom and wanting a good cup of coffee outside my hotel. Why don’t hotels make good coffee? I will never understand this.

Anyway, I’ve got a day in a day in Koh Samui ahead of me with only $30 in my pocket. Actually, there is no money in my pocket, most of us in Thailand use QR codes to pay, but that is another topic for another day.

Will I make it or blow my budget? The only way to find out is to watch the video above.
