Hotels across Asia find themselves in a complicated situation. A post-pandemic staffing crunch has left them short on numbers. And then there is the fact that many are still trying to compensate for lost revenue. Singapore startup Vouch believes it has found a way to overcome both obstacles with its latest innovation.
Bespoke by Vouch was launched in 2022 as a way to empower hotels with an automated method to upsell rooms and services to guests before they arrive. Importantly, the technology creates personalized offers as opposed to generic e-mail blasts that many people tend to ignore.
Best of all for hotels, the hospitality-focused startup gives properties the ability to participate in a commission-based program that means they can use the innovation without a capital outlay.

How does Bespoke by Vouch work?
The Bespoke by Vouch process is actually quite simple. It starts with confirmed guests receiving an email asking them to take a short questionnaire before their stay. Once that is completed, users are then directed to the platform where they can browse recommendations tailored to their guest segment. For example, an in-room bottle of champagne may be suggested if someone is celebrating a special occasion.
From there, guests add items to their cart and pay via the platform. Once completed, they will immediately be sent an email confirmation of their purchase. Hotels have total control over pricing and availability ensuring they’re able to implement strategies based on demand.
No cost to start
While there is no shortage of hospitality startups vying for investment from hotels, Bespoke by Vouch uses a different approach. Instead of paying to implement the technology, the startup utilizes a revenue-sharing model. Those who participate also receive complimentary setup, training and customer support.
The benefits of Vouch far outweigh whatever may be lost in terms of commission. Because really, those upsells were never going to happen without it. This type of automation is an easy way for hotels in Asia to boost revenue without needing to do additional work or hire extra staff which may not even be possible.
