Angsana Lang Co. Review

Location: Lăng Cô., Vietnam

What’s tolerable:

  1. Super peaceful / secluded area
  2. Fun activities
  3. Staff nice but not overbearing

On the downside:

  1. Kids using the kid’s room
  2. Breakfast was unremarkable
  3. Weird shuttle service times

Angsana Lang Co. is an hour’s drive away from Da Nang along Vietnam’s central coast. The resort is isolated although the surrounding area is starting to be built up. The resort’s centerpiece is an 18-hole golf course designed by kind-of famous golfer Nick Faldo. But unless you are playing golf, it’s easy to forget the course exists.

The resort is great, the beach is clean and the swimming pool is expansive with plenty of chairs around. There is also all kinds of cool stuff around to play with such as inner tubes and beach sports. There is one of those water basketball hoops in the pool upon which I unleashed some pornographic dunks upon while at Angsana Lang Co.

My biggest gripe is the fact that kids were using the kid’s room when I wanted to play Microsoft Kinect. Also, the kids who last used system must have been unsupervised because nothing was in the right case and half the games were missing.

The only other issue I have is with the hotel’s shuttle service that goes to some of the local tourist places. It only operates like once a day and the pickup/drop off time was not convenient.

Kids need to learn to put the games back where they found them

Realistically though, I didn’t need to go anywhere. The TV had Fox Sports Asia. This meant I could watch baseball in the morning. Additionally, the internet was fast enough to stream HD video.

The rooms at Angsana Lang Co. aren’t memorable, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The beds and pillows had the 5-star feel. We were on the second floor of a five-storey building and didn’t notice any noise.

Interesting tip: The hotel faces the East Sea which makes it great for watching the sunrise but terrible for sunsets. However, I didn’t realize this before asking my wife if she wanted to have a drink and watch the sunset. Seeing the sun going down behind the hills behind Angsana Lang Co. wasn’t exactly awe-inspiring. The virgin mojito wasn’t bad though.
